- Size: 8"h x 10"w, matted
This pen & ink captures the Allegheny County Courthouse Courtyard. The courthouse was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1888. The courtyard has a unique architectural feature, in which natural light and fresh air illuminate most of the building. Surrounded on three sides by four-story facades, the open courtyard is balanced by a five-story tower on its fourth side. Today, you can see people eating their lunch and enjoying a bit of sunshine in spring and summer.
